Visual Inspection involves using the inspector’s eyes as a probing medium to detect discontinuities in the medium under examination. The inspector may also use tools ranging from quite simplistic such as magnifying glass to quite complicated such as a borescope. Inspectors are required to follow procedures applicable to the referencing code and to fully document and report all findings.
Personnel on staff are certified in accordance with either the AWS QC1 Certified Welding Inspector Program or ASNT TC1A LII VT (Visual Testing). The welding inspector is fundamentally responsible for ensuring that all welds meet or exceed the minimum acceptability standards of the referencing code or codes. Special Inspections are required by the International Code Council and the International Building code and IQS LLC provides personnel who are qualified and certified in accordance with IBC and ICC Model Inspection program. We work closely with geotechnical agencies to augment structural steel activities.

Steel Tank Inspector will have experience and knowledge with Aboveground Storage Tank system components, operation, monitoring devices and STI program requirements.
